I’m sure many of you have heard me say how very lucky I am to have Selene (pronounced Sell -EN-nay) in my life. I will always be grateful to Roberta Brittingham of Rancho Encantado in Yelm, WA  for allowing me to purchase this equine marvel. I know that she wanted for Selene to go to a show home – someone who would “get her out there” and I think she found the right match with me.  I wish that everyone who wanted to could have a relationship with a horse like I have been able to experience.  The biggest compliment that I receive at shows (and I hear it a lot) is that people can tell that Selene and I have a magical connection together – there is trust and respect between us.

This has truly been a fun and amazing year for Novalina De Luz (“Nova”) and I. I feel that winning the Reserve Pacific Rim Award this past year was a big accomplishment for me since Nova was the first horse that I trained without the help of a coach. This was also Nova's first full show year.  I was very proud of her being able to compete in many locations that she had not been before.  I very much enjoy doing all around.  I have been impressed with the versatility and mentality of the Andalusian horse.  Nova seems to always enjoy her training, especially when learning something new - something that I have found to be a wonderful characteristic of the breed.  I especially want to recognize my dad, Craig, for all his support.  I also want to thank Cathy SAuse for bring Nova up in a good environment and Sue Cheers of her friendship and support throughout the years.
